Frequently Asked Questions

What Is MindRight?

MindRight provides mental health coaching and support over text message. We help young people ages 13-25 build skills to manage emotions and stress. We’re real people who listen to you and your feelings without any judgment.

Each day you are scheduled, a MindRight coach will check in with you over text message. You can then talk about anything you're going through, both positives and negatives. You get a team of coaches who stick with you over time, so they get to know you and work together to help you reach your goals in life.

Who Exactly Am I Talking To?

Our coaches are trained to offer support, however we are not therapists or licensed professionals.

Coaches come from diverse backgrounds, all across the country. Some are young professionals, former teachers, community members, and graduate students.

What Can I Talk About?

Our coaches love to hear about you-- whether it’s struggles or good news, sharing an interest or casual chit-chat-- we’re here for you and whatever suits your needs. Many of our members talk to us about stress, family, school, trauma, relationships, grief, or personal goals.

If you’re not sure what to talk about, that’s okay! You can always let the coach know that you’re not sure what to talk about, and they’ll take the lead in the conversation. If something comes up that you definitely want to talk about, just let them know and they’ll be happy to talk about that too.

Is It Free?

MindRight is free for members covered by our affiliated partners. We are currently partnered with the following health insurance plans and/or community organizations.

We are working hard to expand our partnerships to make MindRight accessible to as many people as possible, so please stay tuned as we continue to grow!

What If I’m Not Covered?

If your health insurance plan does not yet cover MindRight’s services or you do not have a community partner in your area, text “hello” to 886-886 to join our waitlist. We regularly provide MindRight spots to waiting list members each quarter. You can also pay for low-cost membership directly here.

If you’re not ready to sign up, check out the MindRight Message. The MindRight Message is a weekly text from MindRight sharing supportive content and skills to help you along your mental health journey.

Are you going to tell anyone what we talk about?

No. Everything we discuss is confidential and only team members of MindRight have access to these conversations. The only time we would have to break this is in the case of an emergency or if we feel your safety or someone else’s safety was at risk. If this does occur, we will let you know.

So are coaches like my personal therapist?

We want to emphasize that our coaches are NOT therapists or doctors. MindRight coaches are mental health professionals trained to provide coaching over text. In cases of emergency, call 911. If you're experiencing a clinical or long-term issue, see a medical professional.

How Do I Sign Up?

To sign up text “hello” to 886-886. We’ll text right back with a few questions to enroll you into the program. The entire process takes less than 3 minutes!
